Welcome Week for Gopher Freshmen
During Welcome week in early September, more than 5,000 University of Minnesota incoming freshman took the field at TCF Bank Stadium. They did so in order to form a giant “M” during Welcome Week 2009, with the help of The Pride of Minnesota (the U’s marching band). The Class of 2013 was the first to set foot in the brand new stadium’s field. The stadium was opened this past weekend, as the Gophers played host to the Air Force Academy in the inaugural game at TCF Bank Stadium, on September 12, 2009.
